Mayors have decided to challenge the decision of appointing Administrators in the Lahore High Court (LHC).Punjab Cabinet has agreed to appoint Civil Administrators to replace Mayors in the province. Their lawyer Fawad Chaudary argued that the appointment of Civil Administrators is in conflict with Article 144 of the Constitution, thus it would be challenged in the High Court. He also said that only elected mayors can use political, financial and administrative rights. The petition would soon be filed in LHC.
