Election Commission (EC) has issued a notice to Moulvi Iqbal Haider in which he hass been summoned on February 4 with reference to a petition filed by him challenging the eligibility of the President.According to announcement made by Secretary EC Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, a notice has been issued to Iqbal Haider to check the eligibility of reference. Iqbal Haider maintained that at the time of Presidential Elections in September 2008, NRO was imposed and the President had immunity under it and all the allegations against his nomination were ignored. Now, the Supreme Court has declared NRO void ab initio so the election commission should review the eligibility of the President.
