LAHORE (Web Desk) – Dense fog has disrupted routine life in most parts of Punjab on Wednesday. Road traffic has been badly affected whereas several flight schedules were cancelled.
As per details, the motorway from Sial More to Lahore‚ Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad and Peshawar to Swabi has been closed for all types of vehicles due to zero-visibility caused by dense fog.
A motorway police spokesman told state radio that the road is expected to reopen at eleven after improvement of the visibility.
He advised motorists to use fog lights during driving.
Motorways police can be contacted through helpline 130 for information regarding opening and closure of Motorways.
On the other hand, schedule of twenty eight international flights and eight domestic flights were badly disrupted.
Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore remained closed whereas flights scheduled to land at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan Airport were also delayed.
Trains departing from different parts of the country for Lahore were also delayed by several hours.
According to Metrological Department , dense foggy condition is likely to prevail over most parts of Punjab, Peshawar and Sukkur divisions till end of December.
