Summary

After the SC declared the NRO as void ab initio, decision on a pending case has been announced. Peshawar High Court has sentenced Peshawar Development Authoritys Former Director General Syed Zahir Shah for 3 years and imposed a fine of Rs 11.5 million for making illegal assets. For illegal assets case, Accountability Court sentenced Syed Zahir Shah for 5 years and imposed a fine of Rs 21.5 million on July 17, 2000, however the case was closed under NRO. Hearing of case against Zahir Shah started again on NABs request and the decision was announced today. Zahir Shah was not present in the court.
