7-hour outages across country

Around 7-hour scheduled and unannounced loadshedding is still continued in the country owing to over 4,000megawatts power shortfall.Fog is also termed as a major reason behind the unscheduled outages hitting the urban areas.Apart from the scheduled six hours outages, unannounced loadshedding is also being carried out by the National Power Control for 1 or 2 hours, whereas outages from 8:00am to 3:00pm are also being carried out on the pretext of system repair on daily basis.The rural areas are also being hit by ten hour blackouts. According to Pepco authorities, the water discharge from the water reservoirs would be increased after the completion of canal desilting till February 21, which would decrease the duration of loadshedding.
