Lahore High Court dismissed a plea challenging the eligibility of the candidates and holding of by-polls in NA-55 on Thursday.The Court asked the petitioner to contact with the Election Commission of Pakistan in this regard.Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Sharif remarked during the hearing that it was the duty of Election Commission and not of the court to ascertain the eligibility of the candidates.Petitioner Khalid Khawaja, in his plea, requested to the court to ensure enactment of article 62 and 63 of the constitution in assessing the eligibility of the candidates besides interpretation of the above said articles.
