Delay in aid may affect economic goals: Tarin

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said that IMF has been notified about the upward trend in economy, however, added that the delay in aid may affect the economic goals.According to IMF documents, Shaukat Tarin and State Banks head Salim Raza had told the Bank in a reminder note that the delay in aid has put pressure on the Pakistans budget, and urged the donors to fulfil the promise of providing $5.7billion aid immediately.He said that due to the above said situation the imposition of value added seemed difficult, but it is not impossible.Tarin reiterated the resolve to impose new taxes from July, however, admitted Pakistans poor performance on economic programmes.
