KARACHI (Dunya News) – MQM Chief Altaf Hussain Tuesday said that the killing of Pak Army officers in Upper Dir was not an ordinary matter, as the honour of Pakistan Army was at stake.
Altaf Hussain was addressing via telephone from London to gatherings of workers in different cities on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
He said that MQM was not against the talks with the Taliban but the militants were challenging Pakistan’s writ by attacking our soldiers.
The MQM chief urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to compromise the dignity of country in talks with any militant group.
He said that action should be taken against terrorists in Karachi instead of targeting the workers of MQM.
“If there were any terrorists in the ranks of MQM, action must be taken against them also,” he said.
Altaf urged Prime Minister Nawaz to convene another APC to discuss the Karachi situation.
“No one can separate me from workers and Pakistan,” he said.
The MQM workers marked the birthday of their chief in several cities of the country and arranged functions in this connection.
