Summary Spokesman says privatization of national assets has been started at IMF dictation.

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Spokesperson Faisal Vawda accused PML-N government for presenting ineffective policies in a hurry.

In a statement issued from PTI media cell here on Tuesday, Vawda said that the rulers have started implementing their privatization policy by selling 26% of PIA’s shares.

Their policies after getting loans from IMF seem to be against the national interest. He said government want to privatize national institutions in order to please several influential people. PIA is a national asset and its privatization would be inappropriate.

Vawda said that the government should work for the revival of national institutions instead of worshiping their self-centred desires. He said that the existing government had inducted board of directors for PIA’s resurgence whose chief was a dual-national and he had to resign after Supreme Court’s action.

He said that it is amazing that the rulers after coming to power, are taking their own businesses touches the heights of profitability but the national economy goes down during their governance.

The spokesperson said that PIA, the national flag bearer airline contributed a lot in Pakistan’s economy. It had supported a few International Airline Companies to develop. Now those companies are on their boom but PIA is facing tough times.

He said that PTI opposes Cabinet’s decision to privatize PIA and demand the issue to be discussed in National Assembly so as to take all stake holders on board for a better and nation-friendly conclusion.”
