KARACHI (Web Desk) – The President House today (Saturday) received Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad Khan’s resignation, sources told Dunya News.

On Friday night, Ishratul Ibad was seen at the Karachi airport to be leaving for Dubai.

This is the third time that Ishratul Ebad has decided to step down from his post. Last time, he announced to leave his post in February 2013 and before that on June 27, 2011.

Dr Ishratul Ebad assumed office on December 2, 2002 was the youngest and longest serving Governor of Sindh since Pakistan’s inception.

The resignation came amid protests by the party against the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi, the violence-hit provincial capital.

The operation which the MQM has dubbed as one-sided action against its office bearers is being conducted by the Sindh government.

Rangers have conducted several raids in the city and have arrested suspected criminals, including members of MQM, during their raids.
