SC orders recovery of missing persons within two weeks

QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday gave intelligence agencies, police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel two week’s time for recovery of the missing persons.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard Balochistan law and order case at Quetta Registry of the Supreme Court.

During case proceeding, Additional Attorney General Habibullah Shakir told bench that the missing persons would be recovered soon.

On this, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said there was no progress in missing persons’ recovery during the past three years.

The CJ said that solid evidence relating to the missing persons case was found against the FC and other security institutions.

Those FC personnel whose names will be raised in this case will be investigated by the Crime Investigation Department.

Later, the court directed police, FC officials and other intelligence agencies to produce missing persons without further delay.
The case hearing has been adjourned for two weeks.
