Altaf urges army to take control of Karachi

Altaf Hussain military should act indiscriminately against all groups involved in terror activities.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has demanded on Tuesday that Karachi should be handed over to the army to contain the ongoing wave of violence that left dozens of people killed in recent days.

Altaf Hussain said that military should act indiscriminately against all groups involved in terror activities for restoring peace in the city.

Lyari once again has come in the grip of terror as at least 14 people more were injured as miscreants hit their targets with bullets and hand grenades.

SP area has ordered his force to shot at glance the man who is in possession of arms and ammunition.

Target killing could not be checked despite tall claims of the government as four more people have been killed while eight got injured in different incidents of violence.

After incidents of firing, terror and horror have gripped different localities in Lyari including Garden, Usman Abad, Chakewara and Agra Taj Colony while all the business centres were closed. SP Tariq Dharijo hs made it clear that armed men would be shot at galance.

On the other hand, police have recovered two bodies covered in bags from the areas of Kala Kot and Usman Abad. Ramez was shot dead while Shoaib Qadri and Mohsin sustained injuries and shifted to nearby hospital.

Another man in the area of Golimar was shot dead near Zimindar Hotel. In the same way, three people were injured in Baldia NO Sarhay Char and Sohrab Goth where armed men hit different vehicles.

Likewise, five more people sustained injuries during armed clashes between two rival groups in the surroundings of Civil Hospital.

Apart from this, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to deploy army in Karachi for protection of innocent people which are becoming targets of miscreants without any check.

He said that metropolitan has become a safe haven for terrorists while law and order situation is going from bad to worse with the passage of time, leaving the business community at the mercy of these scoundrels who have nothing to do with the security and survival of the country.

MQM chief also condemned the shameful incidents of firing in Lyari.
