Summary Inspector General Police Ehsan Ghani compared war on terrorism with a cricket match.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ehsan Ghani on Monday stated that terrorists and police are playing ‘test cricket’ with each other.
“Our fight against terrorists is like a cricket match. Sometimes we hit a six, sometimes we lose a wicket. This is a test match not a T20 and will continue,” the IGP said while speaking to reporters.
Last week, Taliban gunmen wearing police uniforms attacked the central jail in Dera Ismail Khan, allowing about 200 inmates to escape. Around 35 of the escaped prisoners are high-profile militants
Four police officials and five militants were killed during the clash.
There were 483 prisoners at the time of the attack, and a total of 200 have gone missing, according to Mushtaq Jadoon, the Dera Ismail Khan police commissioner.
Later, two Taliban leaders told reporters by phone that 25 terrorists have arrived in South Waziristan and will move to North Waziristan.
They said on Monday night's jailbreak in DIK was codenamed Freedom from Death, cost Rs 11.5 million and took six months to plan. Eighteen of the 150 militants who took part were given special commando training.
