QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan High Court put off the hearing of Bugti case for August. hours. Earlier, the worthy court expressed annoyance over government’s lack of interest in Akbar Bugti murder case. The court has taken up the plea to transfer the case to Islamabad.

 

The case was heard by the Balochistan High Court Chief Justive Qazi Faez Essa. During the proceedings, the advocate general requested more time for preparation of the case.

 

The court got annoyed over it and said provincial government was disinterested in Akbar Bugti murder case.

 

The plea was not even signed by the chief secretary, indicated the court.

 

Chief Justice Essa remarked that the Balochistan government should communicate its stance on the transfer of the Bugti murder case to Islamabad and facilitate the court on the issue.

 

BHC Chief Justice Qazi Faez Essa was irked at the additional prosecutor general for failing to submit a reply on the matter.

 

The petition’s hearing was subsequently adjourned to August 24.

 

Earlier, the request regarding the transfer of the Bugti murder case to Islamabad was made by the Balochistan police.
Balochistan nationalist leader Akbar Khan Bugti was killed in a cave on August 26, 2006 during a military crackdown ordered by Musharraf who was president and army chief at the time.

 

Bugti had led an armed campaign to press for provincial autonomy and a greater share of profits from Balochistan’s natural resource
