Summary At least five militants were killed during clash with security forces at a check post in Hangu.
HANGU (Dunya News) – According to details, militants attacked a security forces check post in Speen Tal area near Hangu during night between Friday and Saturday.
The security forces returned the fire as a result five militants were killed. According to Commandant Frontier Constabulary (FC), four FC officials were also wounded in the attack.
Both the sides used heavy weapons during the clash which lasted for more than four hours. The attackers escaped from the scene taking with them the dead bodies of militants.
The security forces cordoned off the area after the incident and launched a search operation.
Meanwhile, militants also attacked a joint check post of security forces and police in Matni area of Peshawar on Friday night. The attackers fled from the scene when the law enforcement agencies returned their fire.
A civilian was killed and four others sustained injuries when a mortar shell hit a house during the encounter.
