Renowned legal expert Anwar Mansoor Khan has claimed that he has been contacted by the government to appoint him as Attorney General of Pakistan, reported Dunya News on Tuesday.According to sources, Ministry of Law and Justice has forwarded a summary to President Asif Ali Zardari for appointment of Anwar Mansoor Khan. The law ministry had sent three names to the president for the designation of attorney general.Anwar Mansoor Khan had served as Advocate General Sindh in former president Pervez Musharrafs regime. He had welcomed Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry upon his arrival in Hyderabad as Advocate General Sindh. However, Anwar Mansoor, who belongs to Sindh, appeared before the court as governments counsel during judicial inquiry of May 12, 2007 incidents. Federal Minister for Law Babar Awan said the decision regarding appointment of new Attorney General will be made today.
