KARACHI (Dunya News) - Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday stressed sincere efforts to curb violence in Karachi and said that never gave any ultimatum to Sindh government.
Nisar spend a busy day in Karachi and held several important meetings in order to find a solution to worsening law and order situation in the city.
He held meetings with Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and DG Rangers on Monday.
Nisar also called on Pakistan Muslim League Functional chief Pir Pagaro. The two leaders discussed political situation and upcoming presidential elections.
He also invited PML-F to attend the All Parties Conference for devising a national counter terrorism policy.
Chaudhry Nisar said that he has come to share love and affection with Sindh.
Talking to media persons he said he had discussed the overall law and order situation in the province including Karachi with the CM and Governor Sindh.
The interior minister said the situation of Karachi was serious and people expect meaningful action from the government.
“People have become impatient and cannot wait anymore for authorities to play their role,” he said, adding that the action against the killers cannot be delayed anymore.
Nisar said the prime minister himself wanted to visit Karachi to have the first-hand knowledge about the situation.
He said the security agencies have informed him that Karachi peace can be restored if they were given a freehand.
Responding to a question regarding Dr Imran Farooq’s murder investigation, Chaudhry Nisar said the British government had not contacted the Pakistani government regarding the issue.
This was Nisar’s first visit to Karachi since the PML-N came into power.
