Summary The residents of different localities in Lahore have urged Punjab CM to take notice of the issue.

 

LAHORE (Online) - The residents of Shahdman, Shah Jamal, Ichra, Fazlia, Rehmanpura, Ahatamulchand, Sunday staged protest against the continuous disconnection of potable water supply taking to main Ferozpur Road road.

 

The protesters were chanting slogans against the WASA and elected representatives including Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Mian Aslam Iqbal for leaving them without portable water.

 

"We have no drop of water to drink in the constituency from where the present Speaker of National assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and PTI MA Aslam grab their national and provincial seats", Nadeem, a resident of Shadma said.

 

“We have been passing through mental pain due to the unavailability of portable water for our kids. Most of the times we don’t have water to drink even. The elected representatives have failed to redress the genuine issue of the residents,” a resident of Fazlia Colony, Nasir said.

 

“Despite the fact that generator runs on daily basis with millions of rupees diesel monthly,” he said adding that the water Fazlia Colony Wasa tube-well is supplied willfully to the posh areas of Jamia Asrafi and Shadman in connivance with the Wasa high ups.

 

Residents said that the acute shortage of water has forced the residents to live without taking a in a day in such a hot weather. “Most of the time I take bath with a very little quantity of water” he said.

 

The residents said that Wasa high ups have no fear of Allah Almighty and forcing the people to live without the water. They said that they have complained to the concerned SDO and Exen but they have always turned a deaf ear to the residents’ grievance.

 

The residents urged the third time elected CM Shahbaz Shrif to take notice of unavailability of water for ten day.
