Supreme Court of Pakistan has approved Sheikh Rashids petition against postponement of by-elections in Punjab for hearing and summoned reply from Election Commission of Pakistan and Provincial Government Punjab on December 30, reported Dunya News on Monday.A three member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition filed by former federal minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed against the adjournment of by-polls in Punjab. CJ in his remarks said the decision will be made according to the constitution. Talking in light mood, CJ remarked if Punjab Government cant hold elections, we can direct acting Attorney General Shah Khawar to hold elections with the help of Governor Punjab.
