Summary Asks Attorney General to submit report in the court by Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Supreme Court has instructed the Attorney General to submit report in the court by Wednesday on the compliance of recommendations of inquiry committee and Justice Mansoor Alam commission on missing persons.

The three-member bench of the court on Monday issued notice to Secretaries FATA and PATA to present the record of all 504 persons, which are kept in seven investigation centers under the custody of different state agencies.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry headed the proceedings.

The court also asked AG Munir Malik to explain the formation of private tribunal, which not only violated article 10 of the constitution but it was parallel to the Review Board appointed by the court.

The court also ordered Attorney General to take measures for the safe recovery of missing persons, culprits behind it should be apprehended and report may be submitted in the court within two weeks.

Chief Justice said that the relatives of missing persons are running from pillar to post in search of their dear ones but no one is paying heed towards their agony.

The court had earlier ordered the government to bear the expenses incurred on the cases of missing persons but the order was not implemented.
