LAHORE (Dunya News) - Several cities in the country including different parts of the provincial capital were hit by power outage during Sehri timings, despite tall claims of the government.

Several areas in Lahore including Iqbal Town, Johar Town, Shad bagh, Islampura, Faisal Town, old Anarkali and Shahdara were among the areas worst hit by the powers outages during Sehri.
In Dera Ismail Khan, protesters burnt tyres and blocked Multan Road.
The residents of Faisalabad continue to face unannounced loadshedding. According to FESCO statistics, the power generation is 1,200MW against a demand of 2,000MW, resulting into a shortfall of 800MW.
Protestors in Multan surrounded MEPCO office in Pak Gate area. Some of the protesters vandalized the building and torched the furniture of the office. Angry mob blocked Lahore-Sheikhpura road and chanted anti-government slogans.
Earlier on July 6, Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed had assured masses that no load shedding will take place in the month of Ramazan during Sehri, Iftar and Tarawih timings. Also, the government had paid off Rs503 billion in loans to power companies in just four weeks in order to boost power generation.
