Summary Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control and the world over are observing the Martyrs’ Day today.
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and all over the world are observing the Martyrs’ Day today (Saturday).
The day will be marked by complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir and a march towards Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar where martyrs of 1931 are buried.
It was on July 13 in 1931 when the Dogra troops shot dead 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar.
The JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a mammoth gathering at Shopian Chowk reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the July 1931 martyrs’ mission till its logical conclusion despite all odds. He warned the international community that continued ignorance towards the resolution of the Kashmir dispute would undermine the peace in the region.
