Summary Attorney General told the court that the government will announce energy policy in two days.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the load-shedding case in Islamabad Monday.
Attorney General Munir A. Malik told the court that formal announcement about the Government's energy policy will be made in a day or two.
The apex court ordered for presentation of the detailed record of the production and supply of gas. It also asked for details of payments to the IPPs and how much electricity these projects generated.
The court summoned the four provincial chief secretaries and the Federal Finance Secretary to be present at the next hearing.
The court observed that the provincial governments should take responsibility of the electricity theft. It also observed that gas theft has not been totally controlled and its judicious distribution must be ensured.
The court has adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
