Summary Expresses condolences to Chinese govt, families of tourists shot dead in Gilgit.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif Saturday said that friendship with China is and will remain the corner stone of Pakistan s foreign policy and it would boost peace and stability in the region.


Talking to newly appointed Chinese ambassador, Sun Weidong, at the PM’s House, Nawaz said he was looking forward to his visit to China in the first week of July and the visit would help further strengthen the bilateral ties.


The Prime Minister welcomed Sun Weidong on his appointment as Ambassador.


He said Pak-China friendship was based on mutual cooperation and was not against any country.


Nawaz said Pakistan is committed to take Pakistan’s relations with China to an even higher level and it greatly values China’s economic support and cooperation.


A delegation of Chinese media persons also called on the PM at the PM House.


He conveyed his deepest condolences to the Chinese government, Chinese people and the effected families.


The perpetrators would be brought to justice, he affirmed.

The Prime Minister said that he was looking forward to his visit to China in the first week of July and the visit would help further strengthen the bilateral ties.


He said Gwadar Port Project was the hallmark of Pak-China strategic partnership and it would bring economic dividends for both Pakistan and China.


The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction that both the countries’ shared vision of establishment of Long term Economic Corridor is moving forward.


He said he had established a high-level task force headed by a federal minister to explore avenues to enhance economic cooperation with China.
