LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Metrological Department on Saturday announced that Ramzan moon sighting is unlikely on the eve of July 9. However, it may be sighted on July 10.
The Met Office predicted that new moon of Ramzan-ul-Mabarak is expected to born on 8th of July at 12:14pm, thus, there are little chances of sighting of Ramzan crescent.
As per the astronomical calculation, new moon can be spotted when its age is above 31 hours.
During Ramadan, more than a billion Muslims fast from dawn to dusk in nearly every corner of the globe. It is the 9th lunar month and, as cited by Allah in the Quran, it is compulsory for every capable Muslim not to consume any food or drink between 13 to 18 hours a day for an entire month.
