Qaim asks Altaf to stop oft-repeated calls of strike

Summary Says Altaf’s oft-repeated strike calls disturbed the peace and harmony of the city.

 

KARACHI (Dunya News) Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has asked MQM chief, Altaf Hussain to refrain from oft-repeated strike calls, while also claiming to streamline Sindh’s law and order situation.


Addressing the Provincial Assembly, he said that Altaf Hussein’s oft-repeated strike calls disturbed the peace and harmony of the city besides an unprecedented economic damage.


He also deliberated that appointments of chief secretaries and I.Gs were made by Federal government, while Rangers were not under his jurisdiction.


The CM also asked Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) to apprise him (Qaim) of SHC judges who felt that their lives were threatened, as all such judges would be provided bullet-proof cars.


Qaim Ali Shah disapproved Sindh’s part of NFC Award, while he also informed participants of meeting that Thar-coal was conducive for production of electricity.


Earlier, the opposition leader Faisal Sabzawari of MQM backed CM Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s resolve for betterment of Sindh’s law and order situation, and would be fully supported by MQM.


Sabzawari also demanded immediate arrest of killers of MQM leaders Manzar Imam and Sajid Qurieshi.
