At least 27 people have been killed and more than 60 sustained injuries in a blast near residence of PML-N leader Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa in Dera Ghazi Khan. Twenty shops and 15 vehicles were also completely destroyed by the blast. Police has arrested a suspect, Dunya News reported on Tuesday. The blast occurred around 2:45pm on Tuesday afternoon in Khosa market near Committee Chowk. The target of the attack was the house of Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Zulfiqar Khosa destroying his house partially. Window panes of nearby buildings including of TMO office were broken while 20 shops were completely destroyed. Several feet deep fissure has been caused at the blast site. Injured were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital. All the markets were closed after the incident. Many people caught under the debris called from their mobile phones to seek help. According to eyewitnesses, an unknown person parked a car in front of Khosa market and left. Some time later the blast occurred.Rescue 1122 personnel told that several shops were destroyed and many persons remained under rubble for hours. Heavy machinery and cranes were called to remove the rubble. RPO Mubarak Athar told that it was a car bomb blast however it is still unclear if it was a suicide blast.Saif ud Din Khosa, son of Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, said that the target of the attack was their house however nobody was harmed as there was no one present at home. Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah told Dunya News that whole nation should face the terrorists with unity. He said terrorists are killing innocent people including children and women. He said that is was not a security collapse. Blast was intended for target killing: KhosaDost Muhammad Khosa told Dunya News that two of his cousins were injured in the blast. He told that it seems his house was the target of the attackers. He told that 14 injured have been shifted to hospital.
