Summary NAB chairman's appointment was challenged by Chaudhry Nisar.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Tuesday declared National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief Admiral (retd) Fasih Bukhari’s appointment as null and void.
A five-judge bench of the apex court heard a petition filed against NAB chairman’s appointment.
In a short order, the bench declared that Fasih Bukhari’s appointment as NAB chief was violation of Section 6 of National Accountability Ordinance 1999.
Chaudhry Nisar had filed the petition on Oct 22, 2011, stating that the president did not take leader of the house, the leader of opposition and the chief justice into confidence over Fasih Bukhari’s appointment.
President Asif Ali Zardari had appointed Bokhari as NAB chairman on Oct 16, 2011.
