3 more children succumb to measles, toll rises to 105

Summary Punjab Health Department has failed to control measles outbreak despite vaccination campaign.


LAHORE (Dunya News): Three more children who had been suffering from measles died in Lahore on Saturday, taking the death toll in the current outbreak in Punjab to 105, Dunya News reported.

 

One of the victims is a six-year-old Adeel who was undergoing treatment at a public hospital. 

 

According to hospital sources, the deceased belonged to Badami Bagh.

 

The provincial government conducted a measles vaccination drive in Lahore earlier this month for children aged between six months and 10 years and immunised over 2.9 million. A vaccination campaign will now be launched on June 11 in 11 other high-risk districts.
