Scorching heat continues across country

Heat wave to continue in most parts of country, rain expected on Saturday, Met office says.

 

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Severe heat wave conditions would continue to prevail in most parts of the country during two to three days, Met office said on Thursday.

 

According to Met office, Lahore faced hottest day mercury reached at 47 degrees Celsius (116 degrees Fahrenheit) in the provincial capital of Punjab.

 

Faisalabad baked with 46 degrees Celsius, Okara, Sahiwal, Mandi Bahauddin and other cities of central Punjab also observed hottest day with 46 degrees Celsius.

 

Temperature in Multan recorded 45 degrees Celsius while cool city Islamabad has been burning with 43 degrees Celsius.

 

Met office said that South and central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan will remain in the grip of heat till Friday.

 

In Kashmir, dry weather is expected in most parts of the region, however, in Gilgit-Baltistan there are chances of dust-thunderstorm coupled with light rain at isolated places during next 24 hours.

 


Rain is expected on Saturday and Sunday in Islamabad, upper Punjab and northern areas.
