The Law and Justice Commission (LJC) has prepared a number of recommendations to amend different laws relating to juveniles detention and bogus check. The Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that there is no other mechanism instead filing appeals in high courts against the decisions of session courts. The CJP while addressing to meeting of Law and Justice Commission (LJC) in Lahore High Court said that courts should provide justice to people at the earliest. Reviewing the Juvenile Justice System Ordinance, the commission recommended that investigation of juveniles should be carried out by Grade-17 police officer while a medical officer and a psychiatrist should be present in the investigation in case of a minor juvenile. In case of use of bogus cheques, the meeting recommended to grant the right to the session courts to summon bank records. It was demanded in the meeting that reforms should be made in Pakistan Penal Code for banning acts like making accused walk on fire to prove innocence. All the four provincial chief justices were present at the meeting.
