Summary Partial no-go areas still exist in the premises of seven police stations.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday once again rejected the report presented by the police.

 

A five-member larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing of Karachi law & order implementation case.

 

During today’s proceedings, police submitted a report related to the no-go areas in the city.

 

It was mentioned in the report that there are total 106 police stations in the city out of which partial no-go areas still exist in the premises of seven police stations.

 

On this, the CJ questioned if police is accepting the presence of no-go areas in the premises of seven police stations. He, then, inquired about the names of those seven police stations.

 

Station House Officer of police from Lyari area also appeared in the court today.

 

SHO Lyari told court that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is supporting the criminal elements in the area.

 

Chief Justice remarked that every act in the city is politically motivated.

 

The case hearing is underway.
