Summary Says it is duty of every institution,including judiciary, to assist the Election Commission.

 

QUETTA (Online): Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that constitution will be protected at all cost.


Addressing Returning Officers in Quetta on Sunday‚ the Chief Justice said it is duty of the constitutional institutions to help the Election Commission of Pakistan.


He said it is responsibility of the Returning Officers to help conduct the elections in free‚ fair and transparent manner as they represent the judiciary.


Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said Balochistan is passing through a critical stage and is facing numerous challenges.


Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that it is desire of the whole nation to see transparent elections in the supervision of the judiciary.


The CJP said it is duty of the constitutional institutions to help the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).


He also directed authorities to ensure women casting votes.


The CJP said that said Balochistan’s conditions are not good but the judiciary has always performed its duties.
