DC Neelum Valley dies in landsliding
Roads in AJK and KP have been closed due to landsliding after heavy rains.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Deputy Commissioner Neelum, Raja Saqib Muneer fell victim to land sliding and died on the spot while he was on his way to Neelum Valley.
His body had been handed over to the bereaved family after post-mortem. Police officials, Army officers, members of PML-N, and other important personalities attended his funeral held in Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Muzaffarabad-Islamabad road had been closed for traffic at Kohala while traffic had also been suspended at Neelum Road. Communication link of Leepa valley also suspended.
Abbottabad-Murree road remained blocked during the last three days due to heavy snowfall on the highway. Other link roads in Gallyat of district Abbottabad also remained blocked.
According to the sources, construction work of the bridge on Karakoram Highway in District Shangla was being carried out rapidly and the highway would be opened for all kind of traffic on Friday.
