Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says he will take forward politics of reconciliation, adding that participation of all political parties in Gilgit-Baltistan polls is a big success, reported Dunya News. PM announced to give status of big cities to Sakardu and Gilgit. Addressing a public gathering in Skardu PM said that government had given an identity to northern areas, adding that Gilgit-Baltistan will have their own government, cabinet, chief minister and governor. PM announced to recruit 5000 policemen in Gilgit-Baltistan police. The salary of government servants in Gilgit-Baltistan will be Rs 6,000 at least, he added. PM Gilani also announced to make Skardu Airport an international standards airport.Senior Anchor Dr. Moeed Pirzada said the visit of PM Gilani to Sakardu was important due to two factors. First, PM assured the public of transparent elections and impartiality of the administration. His visit played important role in increasing the support of PPP in the area. Second, since he himself belongs to PPP, so the partys position has been strengthened. Gilani, while addressing a large public gathering in police ground, announced that minimum wage of government employees would be Rs 6000 and 5000 more persons would be hired in Police department. Talking about NRO, he said the government wanted to bring NRO in the parliament on Supreme Courts orders but they decided not to bring it to the legislature due to negative attitude of the parliament about it. Gilani vowed to issue the list of beneficiaries of NRO, so the public could know who had benefited from the ordinance beside PPP. Senior Anchor Dunya News Nasim Zahra told that PM Gilani said in his address that NRO would not be presented in the parliament and vowed to face the cases in courts. Gilani also said that he would present the list of beneficiaries in the parliament himself. PM believes that changes are inevitable in some parts of 17th amendment to end the tension and political rift in the country. He said his party thought that all the issues should not be linked to the constitution, some of them needed to be presented separately. Gilani said he had stated it often that Balochistan Committees report should be presented as comprehensive report in the parliament that should be acceptable to all the parties. He vowed to present the report jointly with Nawaz Sharif and said that tensions would be diffused to some extent after that.
