Betting is common in jails and lavish parties are thrown, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif remarked while hearing the case of torture on journalists in Faisalabad. Hearing the suo moto case, CJ instructed police officials to register case against officials involved in torturing journalists within 14 days and submit challan in court. CJ remarked that misuse of authority was done in Faisalabad. CJ also told DIG Faisalabad to register statements of all the injured.
