Presidency won't be used for political activities, LHC told

Summary Advocate Wasim Sajjad submitted a written reply in the Lahore High Court.

 

LAHORE: Federation’s counsel on Wednesday assured Lahore High Court (LHC) that the Presidency would not be used for any political activities, Dunya News reported.

 

A five-judge bench headed by LHC Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial resumed the hearing of President’s dual office case.

 

The counsel for federation, Wasim Sajjad, informed the bench in writing that ruling Peoples Party (PPP) would not hold any meeting inside the Presidency.

 

He told court that party headed by President Asif Ali Zardari is not registered with Election Commission of Pakistan, adding that Amin Fahim is head and Raja Pervez Ashraf is secretary of the Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP).

 

In the light of above explanation, Wasim Sajjad requested the bench to dispose of the contempt notice against President Zardari.

 

Later, the case hearing was adjourned till February 15.
