Summary Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today to express unity with people of the occupied Kashmir.

 

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today (Tuesday) to express unity with people of the occupied Kashmir in their fight against Indian subjugation and with a spirit to impress upon the world the need to resolve the issue of Kashmir in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people and bring their decades-long suffering to an end.

 

Special prayers were offered at mosques across the country after Fajr for the liberation of Kashmir.

 

TV channels and Radio will broadcast special programmes to highlight Kashmir issue. The day would be marked by rallies, walks, human chains, exhibitions, seminars and special meetings to to express unequivocal support to the just cause of Kashmir.

 

Members of the Kashmir Committee will hold a peaceful demonstration in front of office of the UN envoy in Islamabad.

 

The day has been declared a public holiday like the past years.  It is observed officially since 1990 every year on Feb 5.
