LAHORE: Chief of Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Tahirul Qadri announced ‘second phase’ of his ‘revolutionary struggle’ aimed at electoral reforms in Pakistan.
Qadri said that the revolutionary marches would be organized in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sukkur, Peshawar and Gujranwala.
“This is initial stage of our revolution’s second phase,” Qadri told reporters during a press conference here.
“Our movement is meant for the rights of 118 million oppressed people. Our struggle created awareness among masses and this is why the government assured implementation of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution in general elections,” Qadri affirmed.
On Sunday, Dr Tahirul Qadri claimed that martial law could have been imposed if he had not called off his sit-in.
