ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said that response to Taliban’s dialogue offer will be given on state-level, adding that the usage of force would not resolve any issue.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Rehman Malik said that government is ready for talks with the Taliban.

If needed, security forces would reach any place within the call of five minutes time, Malik added.

Earlier on February 3, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan made a conditional talks offer to the government.

He insisted that Taliban could only engage in talks if three senior politicians including Nawaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and Munawar Hassan would act as guarantors.

The Taliban also called on the government to release some of their leaders as a confidence-building measure.
