Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said the issue of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) has been buried forever. Talking to reporters on Saturday after inaugurating Nishat power plant in Jamber, the Prime Minister said the NRO issue was no more to be discussed, for good. He said Article 58(2)b was irrelevant under present circumstances in the presence of an active judiciary. It [Article 58(2)b is of no use today, the Prime Minister said when asked to comment on the governments intentions to abolish the notorious Article of the Constitution. Earlier, Prime Minister said that Malakand would be rehabilitated and investors will invest there. Addressing the National Assembly session PM maintained that Mehsud and Wazir tribes are patriotic. People of Waziristan and FATA are peaceful and friend of ours, he added. PM told that IDPs of Malakand were given Rs 25,000 per family and total Rs 8.5 billion were distributed among them. He assured that victims of Waziristan Operation will be supported through Benazir Income Support Program. PM vowed to rehabilitate displaced persons of FATA, Swat and Malakand.
