Summary KARACHI: Mobile phone services have been resumed after a suspension of three hours.
Cellular services were suspended in Karachi from 12PM till 3PM due to security concerns.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had said on Thursday that there was a terror threat in Karachi for Friday, hence mobile phone services were closed at 12PM today.
Malik further said that all stake-holders were consulted over the matter and preparations were underway to increase security around religious institutions and to improve police patrolling adding that the motive for unrest in Karachi was to destabilise the country.
Over a dozen people were killed on Thursday in different incidents of violence across the city. The targeted victims included included a religious scholar of Karachi s Jamia Binoria, his driver and a fellow colleague, who were shot dead on Shahah-e-Faisal near Nursery area of Karachi.
