Leading eight news channels of the country have agreed on a code of conduct for the coverage of terrorist incidents in the country, Dunya News reported on Thursday.Meeting of the representatives of eight leading news channels Dunya TV, ARY News, Geo News, Aaj News, Dawn News, KTN News, SAMAA, Express News and Express 24/7 held in Karachi today in which it is decided the TV channels will adopt precautionary measures while covering the news in this period of crisis and challenges to national security. It was also discussed to devise a policy regarding the reporting of terrorist incidents. It was agreed the TV channels will avoid broadcasting footages of dead-bodies, wounded persons and eyewitnesses.It was also agreed in the meeting that breaking news should be confirmed before their broadcasting and every step should be taken for the safety of reporting team.
