Hearing of RPPs case at every cost: CJP

Summary The CJP says that hearing of rental power case would be conducted at every cost.

 

ISLAMABAD:- During proceeding of Karachi power case, passing his remarks Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that some elements are making hue and cry to halt hearing of the aforesaid case. He pledged that the hearing of the case would be undertaken ‘even if the sky falls down’.

 

He said that the federal government is passing remarks on the verdict regarding the power case despite being totally unaware of the real aspects of the issue.

 

The Chief Justice added that the judicial institution that is real guarantor of human rights is unscrupulously being degraded and underestimated by so-called champions of democracy.

 

He said, “What is nonsense that drums are being beaten in order put stumbling blocks in the way of court proceedings”.

 

He made it clear he was not desirous for appreciation; rather, may Allah shower his blessing on us, concluded the chief justice.
