Measles claim nine more lives in Sindh

KANDHKOT: At least nine more children have died of measles in interior Sindh, raising the death toll in the province to 369.

 

According to details, the outbreak of measles killed a total of 386 children across the country.

 

Locals in few cities have complained against non-availability of anti-measles vaccine. People are facing severe diffuclty in Moro city and adjoining areas due to vaccine shortage.

 

Most affected areas include Kandhkot, Kashmor, Tangwani and eighty other villages.


The provincial health minister on Friday said that some 2.9 million children have been vaccinated against measles, under a crash program, in the eight worst hit districts of Sindh.
