Summary Legislature body has expressed its concern over Foreign Office attitude towards Kashmir issue.
ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir has sought clarification from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Office for not putting Kashmir dispute on agenda of the United Nations.
The meeting was held at the Parliament House on Tuesday under the chairmanship of its Chairman Maulana Fazalur Rehman, in which the arrangements for observing February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day were reviewed.
The committee also suggested convening a joint session of the parliament to discuss Kashmir dispute in detail and to tell the world about the serious nature of Kashmir. It would ensure Kashmiris people that Pakistan, at any cost would not leave them alone in their struggle for right to self determination.
After the meeting, Maulana talking to the media said that Kashmir committee has strongly condemned the attack on Pakistani check post and unprovoked firing incidents on Line of Control by Indian forces.
He said that the committee took notice that Kashmir dispute is not on the agenda of UNO, in spite of the fact that Pakistan is currently holding the prestigious slot of head of Security Council for one month. The committee asked Foreign Office in black and white to elucidate its position on the matter.
