Summary ATC Saturday has rejected the request of FIA for day-to-day hearing of Benazir murder case.
RAWALPINDI Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed application in the court seeking hearing of Benazir Bhutto assassination case on day-to-day basis but the court has rejected the petition on specific grounds.
FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar through his application furnished to Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday took the ground that the hearing of Benazir Bhutto assassination case be conducted on daily basis in order to ensure early completion of trial in line with the orders of the high court.
He contended that this court decided former governor Punjab Suleman Taseer assassination case within a year therefore, Benazir assassination case be also decided as soon as possible.
American journalist Mark Siegel did not appear before the court despite issuance of summon orders to him in the last hearing.
The court has rejected FIA s petition for hearing of Benazir Bhutto murder case on daily basis and adjourned the hearing till Jan 19.
