KARACHI: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has assured the President that MQM will continue to support the PPP and the incumbent government.
This he said during a telephonic conversation between the two leaders Thursday night, said the spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar.
The MQM chief said that his party would not let democracy derail.Both leaders agreed that elections would be held on time as per constitution. The president lauded MQM’s role for the democracy.
Altaf Hussain said that there was no reality in the reports about MQM parting ways with the government.
Earlier, MQM chief had asked the MQM workers to participate in the long march announced by Doctor Tahirul Qadri on January 14.
Allama Tahirul Qadri and Altaf Hussain addressed a rally in Karachi on Tuesday in which the two leaders pledged to launch joint struggle for changing the system in Pakistan.
The political analysts have been criticizing MQM for boarding two boats simultaneously.
