Summary Reiterate strong resolve of government to foil any attempts from any quarters against democracy.

 

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that, all political parties had right to do politics, but only by abiding by democratic norms.


Discussing the prevalent socio-political situation of the Country, during his talks with Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday at the Presidential Camp Office of Bilawal House, the President also reiterated the strong resolve of government to foil any attempts from any quarters against democracy.


Expressing that democratic process would prevail, President Zardari said that after due consensus of all political parties, the government, at the end of its tenure would form a caretaker government, and after free, fair and transparent elections the rule would be duly transferred to the winning party.


The meeting also deliberated over the prevailing energy crisis, and decided to speed up alternate means to provide energy to masses, while also planning to enhance investment policy and scope for betterment of economy.


President Zardari also directed PM to evolve and implement a comprehensive policy, strategy for maintaining law and order in Karachi with immediate effect.


Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Speaker N.A, Dr. Fehmida Mirza also met President Zardari whence both deliberated over parliamentary and other relevant affairs.


On the occasion, President Zardari expressed that ‘record legislation’ had been carried out during regime’s tenure, and said that government believed in empowering parliament and other institutions.
