Summary

PMN-L leader Nawaz Sharif strongly opposed the tabling of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in the Parliament and said that its approval will distort the image of the Parliament. Talking to media in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif said that the NRO will benefit a few people and justify corruption in the country. Regarding his meeting with President Zardari, he said he didn't go to meet Zardari to take dollars but to discuss national issues. On the other hand, PML-N leaders and members of Standing Committee on Law and Justice Zahid Hamid and Anosha Rehman said that they will approach the Supreme Court if Parliament approves the NRO. In a press conference in Lahore, Zahid Hamid said that NRO is not bill of Pervez Musharraf; it is PPPs bill and some of its clauses are against the constitution. He said that PPP should provide list of those people who got impunity by the NRO and PPP should also provide the list of those cases which were ended. Anosha Rehman said that PML-N is in contact with all the parties in this regard. She said that members are being bought and sold on the name of NRO.
